Bankers Nursing Institute celebrated the graduation of their 5th batch of students of the General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM) course with a candle lighting ceremony at Bankers Nursing Institute Padra on 31st March, 2017. This year, the ceremony was extra special as it was also the beginning of the orientation program for the 8th batch of General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM) students and 1st batch of Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery(ANM) students. Nursing students take the Nightingale pledge, named after Florence Nightingale who pioneered modern nursing, as the first step to nursing with the promise of serving mankind with kindness and sincerity. Lighting a candle is also an ode to Nightingale as she would work tirelessly through the night attending to wounded soldiers during the war with a lamp, earning her the name ''Lady with the Lamp''. This lovely ceremony marked the beginning of the journey of our 49 students into the Nursing profession. It also initiated our new students into the world of nursing. The Chief Guests for the day, Dr.Jayesh Tripathi, Mrs.Darshana Tripathi and Mrs.Rashmi Sharma gave an encouraging speech to the students and praised them for selecting a career that is dedicated to helping those in need. Dr.Parul Banker ,Managing Director of Bankers Group of Hospitals, praised the students’ work and efforts while studying at Bankers Nursing Institute and urged them to continue the good work in their professional lives as well. Her address to the new batch of students for both GNM and ANM was motivating and charged them to take up the course with energy and vigour.
